Simple and Effective Form of Nonsurgical Liver Spot Removal
Since 2015, the award winning PicoSure FOCUS Lens Array (FLA) is next generation for skin rejuvenation and revitalization. The FLA addresses Melasma & Rosacea, age/liver spots, freckles, sun damaged skin, acne scarring, uneven skin tones and fine lines/wrinkles and even stretch marks!
The FOCUS Lens Array treatment is quick and gentle, with only 10% of the skin being treated at the high energy Picosecond focus level during each pulse. The remaining 90% of surrounding tissue is treated with a lower-fluence for a gentler background effect. This allows a deeper penetration to the dermis area under the skin, promoting new collagen and elastin growth whilst also stimulating a non-traumatic tissue healing response.
The award winning FOCUS Lens Array has the following benefits… Treats uneven skin tones, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentations, freckles, sun damaged skin, acne scars and stretch marks. Visible after just 1 treatment.
Age spots, also known as liver spots, are one of the most common skin complaints. As people age, their skin develops dark spots in areas that have been exposed to the sun. People of any age can develop the unappealing blotches, but it is usually after the age of 50 when they begin to appear. Lighter skin tones are most at risk, as are people that have spent a lot of time outside. There are numerous age spot treatments, but very few make any real improvement in the appearance of the skin.
It is almost impossible for people to avoid developing liver spots over the course of their lives, but reducing the number of spots is realistic. Stay out of the sunshine between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm when the rays of the sun are the strongest, and always wear sunblock. This is good advice for anyone but is especially important for those who already have liver spots. The reduction in exposure to the sun will prevent the development of more spots.
Covering the hands and face with vinegar, lemon juice, or buttermilk is messy and does not work. In fact, some of the home remedies could cause additional problems. Lemon juice can cause phytophotodermatitis, a condition that makes the skin sensitive to sunlight and leaves an uncomfortable rash. Lemon juice can also cause hyperpigmentation, a condition where the surrounding skin around a treated area becomes darker.
A simple and effective form of nonsurgical liver spot removal is with a the Picosure Laser. The process is non-scarring, does not require any downtime, and has very few potential side effects. The liver and age spot laser removal procedure removes the surface layers of damaged skin to reveal the healthy and clear skin underneath the brown spots. It is fast and proven to be very effective.
The FOCUS Lens Array treatment helps people to remove the unsightly reminders of age and too many hours lying on the beach. It is effective for all spot removal because it is safe for hands, shoulders, and faces. With Total Body Laser & Medspa liver spot removal in Madison and Milwaukee Wi, residents can have their youthful skin once again.
NOT ALL DARK SPOTS ARE THE SAME
Hyperpigmentation happens when areas of the skin contain more pigment than the surrounding tissue, creating spots or patches that appear darker.
These changes can develop for different reasons, including sun exposure, genetics, aging, inflammation, or naturally occurring pigmented lesions.
Because different types of pigmentation can behave differently, the first step is identifying the concern and determining whether laser treatment is appropriate.

WHAT WE CAN HELP TREAT
Small areas of concentrated pigment that often become darker with sun exposure.
Certain benign pigmented birthmarks may be appropriate for cosmetic laser treatment after evaluation.
Defined brown spots related to accumulated sun exposure can often be treated with targeted pigment laser technology.
Additional appropriate benign pigmentation, including certain seborrheic keratoses, may be considered depending on evaluation.
Any new, changing, irregular, bleeding, or otherwise suspicious lesion should be evaluated by an appropriate medical professional before cosmetic laser treatment.
If you have a history of melanoma, Total Body requires appropriate medical evaluation before treatment.
We examine the pigmentation, discuss how long it has been present, and determine whether it appears appropriate for cosmetic laser treatment.
Laser energy is directed specifically toward the pigmented area rather than treating the entire surrounding region.
After treatment, the pigmented area may temporarily become darker. A light crust can develop before naturally flaking away as the skin heals.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT
Immediately after pigment treatment, the treated spot may look darker or more noticeable than it did beforehand.
Over the following days, some treated areas may:
Some treated lesions may crust for approximately 1–3 weeks, depending on the lesion and treatment response.
Do not pick or peel the treated area. Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your treatment professional.
PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLANS
Some isolated pigmentation may respond noticeably after treatment, while other lesions require additional sessions. Your treatment plan depends on several factors.
Different lesions respond differently to laser energy.
Deeper pigment may behave differently than pigmentation closer to the surface.
A single small lesion requires a different approach than numerous areas of pigmentation.
Skin tone, healing response, and other individual factors influence treatment planning.
WHERE PIGMENTATION APPEARS
Freckles, isolated pigmentation, and certain benign spots may become especially noticeable on the face.
Years of UV exposure commonly leave visible pigmentation across the backs of the hands.
Frequently sun-exposed areas can develop freckles, spots, and uneven pigmentation.
Appropriate benign pigmented lesions may be treated on additional body areas after evaluation.
A MORE EVEN-LOOKING COMPLEXION
Individual results vary. Some pigmentation requires multiple treatments.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT SERVICE
Larger, often symmetrical facial pigmentation that repeatedly returns?
Isolated freckles, birthmarks, or other benign pigmented lesions? You’re in the right place.
PROTECTING YOUR SKIN
UV exposure can contribute to both existing pigmentation becoming darker and new pigmentation developing over time. After treatment, use broad-spectrum sunscreen, avoid tanning, limit intense sun exposure, wear protective clothing when practical, and follow all treatment-specific aftercare.
Laser treatment can address existing pigment, but it cannot prevent future pigmentation caused by continued sun exposure.
