Laser Treatments FAQs

Do I need a consultation?

Yes, for all laser treatments we require a free in-person consultation. At that time you will meet directly with your laser specialist. They will assess the treatment area to determine if you are a good candidate for the service or give suggestions as to what treatment would be best for you based on your desired results. You will receive your custom quote at that time.

Can I get a treatment the same day as my consultation?

We can never guarantee same day treatment. However, if you have no contraindications and time is permitting treatment can be done the same day.

How Do I Prepare for my laser treatment?

  • Avoid products containing Retin-A, Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, glycolic/lactic/salicylic acids, astringents or vitamin C for one week pre and post treatment.
  • Discontinue the use of antibiotics, and photosensitizing medications. We can do a treatment after stopping medications for 1 to 2 weeks. Please consult your physician
  • Has been off of Accutane for 6 months prior to treatment
  • Avoid Sun exposure 1-2 months pre and post treatment

What is my post procedure aftercare

Please do not exercise, sauna, or submerge yourself under water for 24 hours following your treatment and avoid sun exposure. Showering is fine, but please be cautious of the water temperature and avoid scrubbing at the area that was treated. At your free consultation your provider will go over all aftercare recommended for the specific service you are receiving.

Can I get laser treatments if I am pregnant?

It is advised not to receive laser treatments while pregnant. There have not been studies done on the long terms effects of laser on an unborn child. If you are receiving laser tattoo removal you must wait till you are finished breastfeeding to start or resume your treatments.

Does laser hurt?

There is discomfort related to laser treatments. At your free consultation your provider will discuss pain management options to reduce some discomfort.

How old do you need to be for laser treatments?

We will treat patients starting at the age of 16 with parental or guardian written consent.

Can I bring my children along to my appointment?

We please ask you keep your kiddos at home as they will not be granted permittance into the office. We will not allow any minors to wait in the lobby for the services to finish- even if they are accompanied by an adult. Minors are not permitted entry unless they are receiving services with written parental or guardian consent at the age of 16 or 17. This policy limits distractions during the treatments and eliminates liability concerns regarding minors.

Minors can still receive salon services with parental supervision.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We have a 24 hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. If a proper notice is not given Total Body reserves the right to charge up to 50% of the cost of your service. Please see our terms and conditions page for more information.

I’m running late for my appointment can I still receive my treatment?

If you are more than 5 minutes late we cannot guarantee you will receive treatment and may need to reschedule your appointment. You may have bear any cancellations costs. Please call us if you are running late to determine if the providers schedule can accommodate for the time lost. Please see our terms and conditions page for more information

Should I tip?

As in any service industry tips and gratuities are appreciated!
