Spider veins are the small red, purple or blue veins near the surface of the skin that form in a web-like pattern. Medically, they are known as venulectasias or telangiectasia. These veins are caused by increased pressure. The spider vein condition can develop on any body part but most commonly appears on the lower half of the body:
- Thighs
- Buttocks
- Ankles
- Calves
Some people with these perpetually dilated veins experience discomfort, and many consider them unsightly. Laser treatment is one of the best ways to deal with this condition.
