Juvéderm Voluma XC is an FDA-approved filler for deep injection for cheek augmentation to correct age-related volume deficit in the mid-face in adults over the age of 21. Juvéderm Voluma XC is designed specially to achieve both fill and lift of skin tissue in the mid-face and cheeks, as opposed to just filling the subcutaneous space like other fillers.
Juvéderm Voluma XC has been shown to also lift skin farther away from where it is injected, often reducing or eliminating altogether the need for treatment of other areas on the cheek. This makes Juvéderm Voluma XC longer-lasting than other products, proven to last for up to two years. Typically, when clients return for additional treatments after two years, less product is required to restore appearance.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring compound commonly used in skin-care products. Your body produces hyaluronic acid to perform a wide range of functions, including providing volume, moisture, and softness to your skin. Skin care products such as Juvéderm Voluma XC containing hyaluronic acid have been shown to actually encourage the body to produce new collagen, extending the duration of treatments.
Voluma XC is a step up from traditional filler products in that it allows much more sculpting to be done – it’s truly an artist’s tool! Depending on your treatment plan, we may use a combination of needles and micro cannula to achieve an optimal result.
Note that the “XC” in the product name indicates the product contains a small amount of lidocaine, an anesthetic, to help assure a more comfortable treatment. When used with a topical anesthetic, especially when using micro cannula to administer the product, the procedure is virtually painless.
